Bioident Executive to speak at the Printed Electronics Conference

Wasiq Bokhari, CEO of BIOIDENT Technologies, will discuss the role of Printed Electronics for Life Sciences at the Printed Electronics Conference taking place November 12-15, 2007 in San Francisco, Calif. Recognized for his pioneering work in printed sensor applications for life science markets, Bokhari has a wealth of experience bringing technology developments to market.

In this session, Bokhari will provide a short overview on printed electronics and BIOIDENT’s potential applications in the life sciences sector. Bokhari will also discuss the advantages of using printed electronics for devices and in the production process, as well as provide several real-world examples.

About Wasiq Bokhari

Bokhari is a co-founder and managing partner of Quantum Insight. He works with Fortune 500 companies on the adoption and commercialization of materials and nanotechnology with applications in energy, IT and medicine. Bokhari also works with entrepreneurs and early-stage startups in technology commercialization.
He is a serial entrepreneur with extensive experience in the field of emerging materials and nanotechnology. He serves as a strategic advisor to Chevron and is part of the team that has built and grown Molecular Diamond Technologies, a new nanomaterials focused business unit. He also serves as a strategic advisor to Hitachi in the areas of emerging electronics, energy and life sciences applications. Bokhari was part of the founding team and interim CEO of Kalinex Inc., a drug discovery instrumentation company. Prior to that, he was part of the founding team and Senior Vice President of Products of Clickmarks, an enterprise infrastructure software company, subsequently acquired by Semotus Solutions.
Bokhari received his Ph.D. in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, under Nobel Laureate Jerome Friedman. He was part of the team that discovered a fundamental particle called the top quark at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in 1995. He is an author of more than 50 scientific and technical publications, and is cited as an inventor on eight patents, granted and applied. He is also the co-founder and Steering Committee Chair of the MIT Stanford UC Berkeley Nanotechnology Forum. Bokhari has worked with PCAST (Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology) on issues related to energy. PCAST is the highest civilian body that advises the US President on issues in science and technology.
